Christopher Nolan’s Next Project Sets 2026 Theatrical Date With Imax 70mm Release

Following his historic sweep at the 96th Academy Awards for Oppenheimer, Christopher Nolan has officially locked in his next cinematic canvas with longtime home Universal Pictures.

While plot specifics remain locked inside Nolan’s legendary vault, industry sources confirm the production will utilize newly engineered 70mm Imax film cameras designed specifically for high-speed dynamic lighting and nighttime exterior photography.

Principal photography is scheduled to begin early next year across four international locations, with Hoyte van Hoytema returning as director of photography and Ludwig Göransson composing the original score.
